ALAN BURNETT

Alan Burnett is a registered patent attorney and certified patent geek.  Alan has practiced intellectual property law since 1998, following 13 years of diverse engineering experience including work in the fields of software engineering, advanced robotics systems, control system design, embedded system design, and medical devices.  An inventor in his own right, Alan became interested in becoming a patent attorney after investigating obtaining patents on his robotic rehabilitation machine and computer-controlled exercise equipment he started developing while obtaining his first master’s degree.  In addition to patent prosecution, Alan’s work focus includes strategic planning and portfolio management, patent valuation and analysis, Post-Grant Reviews, infringement and validity studies, litigation, and IP brokering and licensing.  A computer and software nerd at heart, Alan recently completed his second master’s degree in computer science and software engineering, with his research focused on Machine Learning and AI.
