CAROLINE FLEMING

Caroline has extensive experience in patent prosecution and patent portfolio management. Caroline has drafted and prosecuted patent applications in the computer, electrical, software and mechanical arts, for example, storage controllers and devices, memory, telecommunications hardware and software, semiconductor devices, mechanical devices, medical devices, microprocessor architecture, encryption and analog circuits.

Caroline started her intellectual property practice as an intern in the Patent Group at Digital Equipment Corporation drafting and prosecuting patent applications. Caroline worked for Hamilton, Brook, Smith and Reynolds, P.C. as an associate working on patent prosecution and counseling clients with respect to prosecution strategy and infringement. Caroline then moved in-house to Intel Corporation.  While at Intel Corporation, Caroline managed a patent portfolio and was the acquisitions and divestitures manager for Intel’s patent group.  In her role as portfolio manager, Caroline performed defensive and offensive reviews of patents and worked with engineering teams to provide patent training and conduct harvesting. 

Prior to her legal career, Caroline worked for fifteen years as an engineer at Wang Laboratories and Digital Equipment Corporation where she developed hardware and software for storage controllers, network controllers, video controllers and storage devices.
